Placeholder v0. This page is being finalised by counsel. The text below is the plain-language intent; the final policy will be published before launch.
Who we are
Old Continent Liberty is an editorial project based in Portugal, operated by Fábio Fernandez. For questions about this policy, write to privacy@oldcontinentliberty.com.
What we collect
- Newsletter — your email address, and (optionally) your name. Stored with our newsletter provider. Used only to send you the Weekly Dispatch and any paid-member editions you subscribe to.
- Shop orders — name, delivery address, email, and payment details. Payment is handled by our payment processor; we never store card numbers. Order data is kept for seven years for tax purposes, as required by Portuguese law.
- Analytics — aggregate, non-identifying visit data (page views, device type, country) via privacy-respecting analytics. No cross-site tracking. No advertising cookies. No session replay.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone outside our essential service providers (newsletter, payment, shipping).
- We do not run behavioural advertising. There is no Meta Pixel, no Google Ads remarketing, no data broker integration.
- We do not build profiles of readers for resale.
Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, rectify, delete, restrict, or receive a portable copy of your personal data. You can also object to processing and withdraw consent at any time. Write to privacy@oldcontinentliberty.com and we will respond within thirty days.
Retention
Newsletter data is kept while you are subscribed, plus reasonable backup rotation after unsubscribe. Order data is kept for seven years for tax compliance. Analytics data is aggregate and is not linked to individuals.
Changes
If we change this policy materially, we will notify subscribers by email.
